KPK Chairman Guarantees Allegations Of Corruption In Formula E And The PCR Business Will Be Investigated, Febri Diansyah: Just Talk Or Serious?

JAKARTA - Former spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah is skeptical of the statement by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri who will investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta and the PCR business. This was conveyed through his Twitter account @febridiansyah.

He assessed that Firli's statement could only be proven by the time and attitude shown by the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

"The statement by the Chairperson of the KPK @firlibahuri regarding Formula E & PCR Business will be proven by time. Is it just talk, or is it serious," Febri said in a tweet quoted on Tuesday, November 9.

Furthermore, this anti-corruption activist reminded that the investigation of alleged corruption can only be done when the KPK is doing its work independently and not doing politics.

"KPK must be independent. No political tendencies. On any side. Can you? I'm not sure, until proven otherwise," said Febri.

Previously reported, KPK Chair Firli Bahuri confirmed that his institution would follow up on two corruption allegations stemming from public reports, namely those related to the PCR test business and the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta.

"Regarding the alleged criminal acts of corruption including the alleged corruption of Formula-E and the PCR test, we are working," said Firli as quoted from his Twitter account @firlibahuri on Friday, November 5.

The former deputy for prosecution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensured that anyone involved in the alleged corruption would be dealt with indiscriminately. This is done as an effort by the KPK to realize a corruption-free Indonesia.

"KPK will never tire of eradicating corruption. Whoever the perpetrator is, we will take firm action in accordance with legal provisions," said Firli.

"KPK will not indiscriminately. KPK works professionally according to the adequacy of evidence," he added.

For information, the anti-corruption commission admits that it has examined several parties related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the international Formula E racing event which will be held in DKI Jakarta.
