Jakarta Floods Have Receded Completely Tonight, Refugees Return Home

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said that the floods that had inundated several points in the capital city today have completely receded.

Head of Data and Information Center (Kapusdatin) DKI BPBD M. Insaf said, based on the recording at 18.00 WIB, all refugees had returned home because the flood had receded.

"Information about the current inundation has completely dried up from 30,470 RTs in DKI Jakarta. Refugees have returned to their respective homes," said Insaf in his statement, Monday, November 8.

It is known that high-intensity rain in Greater Jakarta resulted in flooding inundated 91 RTs in East Jakarta and South Jakarta, based on the recording at 06.00 WIB today.

In East Jakarta, floods submerged 70 RTs in Balekambang, Cililitan, Cawang, Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu sub-districts. The highest flood is up to 2.7 meters. A number of residents fled.

Then, the flood inundated 21 RT in South Jakarta up to 1.6 meters. The details are in Pondok Pinang Village, East Pejaten, East Cilandak, Rajawati, Pengadegan, and West Tanjung.

"The inundation condition is being handled by the Local Urban Village with PPSU, BPBD TRC Team, DSDA, Satpol PP, Tagana & Disgulkarmat targeted to subside quickly," said Insaf this morning.

Until noon until late afternoon, the flood was still inundated. Recording at 15.00 WIB, the flood was still submerging 3 RTs in East Jakarta with a water level of up to 50 centimeters, and increasing in West Jakarta with a height of 60 centimeters.

Floods in Jakarta today are caused by high rainfall and overflowing times due to the delivery of water from upstream.

This afternoon, there were still residents who took refuge in the hall of the Kampung Melayu Village Office and the Ittihadul Ikhwan Mosque Hall RW 008. Until finally, tonight the flood had completely receded.
