JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Riza Patria, said that his party would seek to increase the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). But the rate of increase will not match the expectations of the workers.
"So, we apologize for increasing the UMP. We will try to increase it. However, the numbers have not been in line with our collective expectations," Riza told reporters, Sunday, November 7.
Riza did not specify the amount or percentage of the increase in the UMP. He only mentioned that the workers' expectations were not fulfilled for several reasons.

Meanwhile, KSPI President Said Iqbal said that the demand for a wage increase was determined based on a KSPI survey in 24 provinces in Indonesia using the components of a decent living requirement (KHL) for workers.
"From the survey, it was found that the most experiencing price increases was transportation, especially public transportation with very few pandemics operating so they switched to online transportation so that transportation costs rose sharply. The prices of basic commodities also increased by an average of 7-10 percent," said Iqbal.
