Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution: Satpol PP Don't Cut Down Votes To Enforce Perda

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution asked the local Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) not to be selective when enforcing regional regulations (perda).

"For example, there is a good building, but the problem is that it is not disciplined. On the other hand, buildings that are not good belonging to residents are immediately brought to justice. Don't be selective, enforce local regulations," said Bobby Nasution in Medan, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 4.

He said this after leading an apple with the Medan City Satpol PP and the Cakti Starling Battalion in the context of strengthening public order and public peace at the Medan Flower Garden Field.

Moreover, nowadays, Bobby Nasution continued, information is easy to get to the public, so the Satpol PP as the civil service in the field must be firm while prioritizing humanist actions.

The Mayor of Medan admitted that the role of the Satpol PP was very large in carrying out the Medan City Government program, one of which was implementing the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM) starting from level 4.

"I appreciate the Satpol PP personnel who have worked hard during the pandemic, so that confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to fall. Medan City is now at level 2 PPKM," explained Bobby Nasution.

Approaching Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022, the mayor of Medan also reminded all Satpol PP personnel to anticipate that there would be no spike in COVID-19 cases in this area.

"Worship is not prohibited. However, outside activities that can trigger crowds, such as vacationing to tourist attractions, must be anticipated," said Mayor Bobby Nasution.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Medan City Satpol PP, Rakhmat Adi Syahputra, said that in enforcing the regional regulations, his party was required to be humane, which is still the homework of his staff until now.

"Personnel should not act arrogantly. But this is not an easy thing, we know what the Medan City community is like," he said.
