Tanjungbalai Residents Lose Money Up To Rp. 25 Million In Jewelery, Police Arrested The Collector

MEDAN - The Tanjungbalai Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested the perpetrators of theft and detention with a total loss of Rp. 25 million for victims.

Victim Riandi Sinaga (40) reported to the Tanjungbalai Police on October 8 about the theft of his belongings and money that occurred on Jalan Garuda, Kapias Village, Teluk Nibung District, Tanjungbalai City, North Sumatra.

The items stolen included an Oppo Renno 4 cellphone, jewelry in the form of adult bracelets, children's chain jewelry, ring jewelry and cash amounting to IDR 18 million.

The Tanjungbalai Police Chief, AKBP Triyadi, said the suspect detained by Rizki Ritonga alias Kiki (22) was a collector of stolen goods. Meanwhile, the giver of the item with the initials R is still being searched.

"The results of the investigation revealed that the victim's cellphone was in the hands of a man named Rizki Ritonga alias Kiki," said AKBP Triyadi in his statement, Thursday, November 4.

From the results of the investigation, the police immediately visited Rizki's location in Sirantau, Datuk Bandar.

"Precisely at the Putra Minang Restaurant, which was led by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit II at around 14.30 WIB, the suspect was arrested," he said.

During the arrest, 1 unit of the Oppo Reno 4 cellphone, which was purchased by Rizki, was secured from a man with the initials R.

"Tanjungbalai Police will continue to search for the man," he said.

For further inspection, officers took Kiki to the Tanjungbalai Police Station. For his actions, the perpetrators were rewarded with 480 of the Criminal Code.

"With a maximum prison sentence of 4 years," he said.
