Medan Education Office Studying Limited PTM For Elementary School Students Classes 1-3

MEDAN - The Education Office of Medan City, North Sumatra Province, is still reviewing the implementation of limited face-to-face learning (PTM) at the elementary school level for grades 1 to 3.

The Acting Head of the Medan City Education Office, Topan Ginting, said that his party would monitor the progress of the implementation of limited PTM at the elementary level which had been implemented starting November 1 for grades 4 to 6.

According to him, if there is no transmission of COVID-19 cases in the school environment, then the possibility of limited PTM will be applied to grades 1 to 3.

"Hopefully if this goes well without any disturbances, then we pray together for classes 1 to 3 to open soon," said Topan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, November 2.

He explained that so far the implementation of PTM has been limited to the elementary and junior high school levels in Medan City.

However, Topan appealed to each school to continue to closely monitor the implementation of health protocols during the PTM.

To anticipate the occurrence of clusters of the spread of COVID-19 in the school environment, the Medan Education Office has also issued operational standards and procedures (SOP) that regulate the behavior of students and teachers during face-to-face learning, from leaving to school.

"For this reason, all of our students in grades 1 to 3 remain patient," he said.
