JAKARTA - Not only serving as a member of the Bhayangkara Corps, Aipda Nurkholis Aziz is also known as a preacher in his home environment in Banjarrejo Village, Rejotangan District, Tulungagung Regency.
Reported by humas.polri.go.id, Tulungagung Police Chief, AKBP Handono Subiakto appreciated the activity and innovation carried out by this one member.
Because not only working to protect and protect the community, this one police officer is also known as a preacher, the head of the Ta'mir Mosque and the owner of the Al-Quran Education Center (TPA).
This was conveyed by AKBP Handono when he visited the home of the cleric Aipda Nurkholis Aziz, which was used as a place for Koranic education for dozens of students, on Monday, November 1.
Tulungagung Police Chief AKBP Handono Subiakto expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by Aziz and hoped that such activities would be maintained and improved.
"Thank you for the initiative and innovation, keep it up and continue to do good things like this, hopefully what Aipda Aziz does can be imitated by other members," he said.
In front of the students who are taking education at the TPA managed by Aipda Nurkholis Aziz, the Tulungagung Police Chief advised that the students and female students be serious in learning because in tens of years, they will be the next generation of the nation.
"In 20 years, you students will be the next generation of the nation, so studying must be done seriously," continued the Police Chief.
Meanwhile, Aziz said that since 2019, he has started to actively fill the Friday Prayer Sermon in his neighborhood.
"At that time, I was offered to fill out the Friday wager in 2019, so I did it," he explained.
Not only conveying religious messages, he also conveyed an invitation to the community to jointly maintain security and order in the community as well as a message to implement 3M during a pandemic like this.
If all this time the Friday Prayer sermon was delivered in Javanese, he chose to use Indonesian on the grounds that it would be easier for millennials to accept.
"If the sermons are in Indonesian, mas, those who use Javanese are usually seniors, if I use Indonesian, other than that, the message is easier for the younger generation to catch," he explained.
Meanwhile, it was related to the readiness to become a preacher, Ustadz Aziz said "There was no special preparation that I did before giving the Friday prayer sermon, I first gave permission to the leadership then prepared to come to the mosque earlier, then prepared myself and delivered the Friday sermon to the congregation at the mosque, " he said.
Now after carrying out his role as a preacher at the mosque, the father of three has won the trust of the surrounding community to become the Chairperson of the Ta'mir of the Baitul Fattah Mosque in the neighborhood where he lives.
"If the mosque's activities are routine, the congregation will continue to study regularly on Sunday nights and study at dawn after the dawn prayer, 2 times a week, we will do it," he said.
His busyness outside of work gets full support from his family, even with his wife, he has approximately 30 students to study Iqro to memorize the Koran.
"The one who recites the Koran for elementary to middle school children," said Aziz
"Initially there was one child who learned the Koran at my house, then the child invited his friends to continue inviting him again, so finally more and more people joined," he continued.
The TPA, which has existed since a year ago, is now managed with his wife, Siti Nur Azizah, assisted by two clerics.
Ustadz Aziz's hope is very simple, namely wanting to share and benefit the surrounding community, one of which is by teaching reading and writing and memorizing the Koran for the surrounding community.
"Hopefully, so that it can be useful for the surrounding community, I usually do that, my wife also usually gives it, we have given it to the community, who knows later it can become a boarding school," he concluded.
