Hammersonic In The Middle Of Cibiran On The Local Line-up

JAKARTA - After being missing for a year, the biggest international scale metal music festival and recognized as the biggest in Southeast Asia, Hammersonic, is back. Different from the previous two years which was only held for one day, this metal party which was initiated by Ravel Entertainment will last even more magnificently with a duration of two days.

Held at Carnaval Beach Ancol on March 27-28, 2020, this ninth edition of Hammersonic still features various sub-genres and does not get entangled in metal 'puddles'. Apart from gothic metal, metalcore, and death metal, hardcore and punk music will also break the Jakarta sky.

The line-up that will hit the stage will also be more sadistic than the bands that performed in 2018. Ravel Junardy as the promoter ensures big names such as Slipknot (numetal, United States), Black Flag (punk, USA), Sinister (death) metal, Netherlands), Lacuna Coil (gothic metal, Italy) and Comback Kid (hardcore punk, Canada) will attend.

Not to mention Suicide Silence (deathcore, USA), Vulvodynia (slam death bulldozer, South Africa), Polaris (metalcore, Australia), Crossfaith (metalcore, Japan), Stillbirth (brutal surf death metal, Germany), Uncured (progressive death / groove metal, USA), and many more band names to be announced later.

Meanwhile, from the local realm, the names Burgerkill and Killing Me Inside Reunion were revealed. These two names immediately caused uproar on social media. Burgerkill was considered to appear too often, while Onad et al were deemed unfit to take part in a stage as big as Hammersonic. However, the selection of these performers is certainly not without reason. Apart from bearing a big name, they are also able to suck up the masses. Yes, the business objective is indeed the audience who buys tickets. Not what comes free.

In addition, most of them have just released their new album and are currently holding a promo tour. One of them, Slipknot, has just released the album We Are Not Your Kind.

The news of Slipknot's arrival really shook the country. The excitement of 'metalheads' was so jarring that this was the first time Corey Taylor and friends came to Jakarta. The band from Iowa, United States is confirmed to perform on the first day.

Early bird tickets, which went on sale on November 11, 2019, were sold out in just five minutes. The Maggots (as Slipknot fans) seemed to be merciless in bullying the limited ticket quota of IDR 750 thousand. Even on November 12, Hammersonic increased the quota for early bird tickets, and didn't wait long for the status to be 'fully booked'.

This high enthusiasm is a motivation for the Hammersonic organizers to be able to facilitate the 'metalheads' who want to meet their champion.

After struggling with the booming demand for tickets from metalheads, Hammersonic opened a pre-sale ticket sale for Phase 1 of IDR 1,250,000 for two days on November 15 and 16. Furthermore, the organizer opened the sale of pre-sale tickets for stage 2 for IDR 1,700 thousand and normal tickets with information that will be announced in the near future.
