Indonesian Eastern Music Charm and Celebration to be Presented at Pesta Timuran

JAKARTA - The public's response to music from East Indonesia is getting warmer. Not only on social media, the acceptance is also reflected in the lively East-themed music event.

Starting from the collective movement of Timuran Jaksel, then collaborated with the East Tana Sound festival, the Timuran Festival was officially announced as a music festival and celebration of East Indonesian culture in Jakarta. Involving NADI Creative collaboration with Antara Suara, this festival will be held on July 4, 2026 at CIBIS Park, Jakarta.

The Timuran Festival is an event to celebrate the music, culture, and collective energy of East Indonesia. This festival provides a space for the identity, community, nostalgia, and expression of East Indonesian music to meet in one big celebration in Jakarta.

This event was appointed as a new step to bring that spirit to a larger festival stage without losing the warmth and closeness of its community. Nadi Creative together with Antara Suara wants to present a space that still feels close, but has a more serious, collaborative, and inclusive scale of experience.

"We see so many people in Jakarta who have ties and love to East Indonesian music and culture, but don't have a celebration space that feels really close to them. Starting from the Jaksel Timuran collective, we want to bring that grassroots feel to a more serious festival level without losing the sense of home and togetherness," said Robby Neo, CEO of Nadi Creative in a written statement received by VOI.

Unlike other music festivals, Pesta Timuran is packaged through a series of exclusive special shows that bring together East Indonesian musicians across genres and generations in various collaborative formats. From karaoke, hip-hop, pop, reggae, Jazz, to the exploration of Eastern music combined with music from the Minang region. All programs are designed to showcase as much as possible the colors of the works of East Indonesian musicians today.

Andri Verraning Ayu, CEO of Antara Suara, said that the Timuran Festival was a reflection of the increasing influence of East Indonesian musicians and pop culture at the national level.

"We see that the work of East Indonesian musicians today is increasingly widely accepted across cities and across generations. The Timuran Festival is a space to show that East music can no longer be seen as a small subculture, but has become an important part of the pulse of popular Indonesian music today," said Ayu.

The ticket sales phase of the Pesta Timuran has been opened in the pre-sale phase starting May 11 through the official website pestatimuran.com and is still available today, Friday, May 22. During the Pre-sale period, the Dansa Sendiri ticket is priced at Rp200,000, while the Dansa Rame-rame ticket is available at Rp150,000 per person. This presale ticket sale is available in limited quantities.

As an announcement of the first lineup, Pesta Timuran also introduced the Phase 1 Lineup through the first special show entitled Lagu Timur Sessions which will present Miguell Kaidel, a DJ from the Netherlands of Maluku descent who is active in introducing East songs through the digital project Lagu Timur Session. Combining the karaoke party format, this special show will collaborate with Moluccansoul to lead dancing and singing along to East hit songs that are familiar to many people.

In addition to the East Session Song, the special show titled Pesta Timuran will bring the colors of Eastern music led by Toton Caribo, Jacson Zeran, and Moluccan Soul DJ Set. This special show will be the initial picture of the experience offered by Pesta Timuran, namely an intimate atmosphere full of nostalgia, feels like coming home. In the next few weeks, Pesta Timuran will also announce the next lineup and special show gradually.
