JAKARTA - The band DRIVE has released another English song. After several songs on the fourth, fifth and sixth albums, this time they present Mantra.
Axl (Vocals), Bhusdeq (Guitar), Dygo (Bass) and Rudi (Drums) present this bilingual single in the lead-up to their eighth album. After the release of the Indonesian version in March 2026, the band is now releasing the song in English, "Mantra (English Version)".
"There were so many lyrical ideas when I first played this song for them. At first the lyrics were in Indonesian, but then I also wrote an English version. During the recording session, I decided to record both. During the recording process, Dygo and Axl also helped create lyrics in both versions," explained Bhusdeq, the song's composer.
The Indonesian version of 'Mantra' and the English version have different stories and impressions.
"The 'mantra' in this song (for both versions) is 'glue' in a love relationship. An invisible glue that makes two personas need and love each other. This English version tells about the beginning of a relationship, and the Indonesian version tells when the love story is flowing," continued the guitarist.
"Mantra" is also present in the music video directed by Budi Hendrix and Griska and Sean, a couple based in London, England. The couple beautifully captures their love story with a backdrop of London scenery.
The video clip feels very in line with the English lyrics of the song. In this English 'Mantra' Music Video, the two stories are combined and look glued with the background of the city of London.
'Mantra (English Version)' is now available on all digital streaming platforms, with the official music video released on the Drive Indonesia YouTube channel.
