Ariana Grande Announces Release of Eighth Album Petal

JAKARTA - Ariana Grande has surprisingly officially announced the title and release date for her eighth studio album titled "Petal".

Through his Instagram account, the 32-year-old solo artist uploaded a series of black-and-white photos and videos, with the caption of his new album, and the release date on July 31.

In the production, Grande again collaborated with Swedish-Persian musician Ilya Salmanzadeh, who acted as executive producer and co-writer.

The selection of the title "Petal" also has its own meaning. He describes this album as a reflection of resilience and personal growth in the midst of difficult situations.

"Something that is full of life and grows through the cracks of something cold, hard, and challenging," Grande said, quoted by Variety, Thursday, April 30.

Salmanzadeh's involvement in the project is believed to bring a strong pop feel, given his successful track record of helping Ariana on the album "Eternal Sunshine" in 2024.

The producer, also known as Max Martin's creative partner, has previously scored global hits with other big stars such as Taylor Swift to Sam Smith.

The presence of the "Petal" album this time follows Ariana's productivity in recent years, including her involvement in the musical film project "Wicked" as well as the release of the deluxe edition of the album "Eternal Sunshine" in 2025.

However, the announcement of this album also brought other news for fans regarding the future of the diva. Ariana hinted that the summer tour that will begin in June is likely to be her last tour in a very long time.

He revealed his desire to take a different direction in life after an intense career in the music industry for more than a decade.

"The last ten or 15 years will look very different from the years to come. I don't want to say anything for sure. I know that I'm very excited to do this little tour, but I think it might not happen again for a very, very, very, very long time," Grande said while being a guest on the Good Hang podcast.

"I'm going to give it everything and it's going to be beautiful. I think that's the reason I'm doing it because I feel like, 'One last joy'," he added.

Although the tour was originally planned to support the promotion of "Eternal Sunshine", the presence of "Petal" is confirmed to be the main menu in the list of songs to be performed.

With a release date in late July, fans are preparing to welcome an emotional new era as well as a moment of farewell while Ariana Grande is off the world tour stage.
