Sammy Simorangkir Will Bring Kerispatih Song at 20SSS Concert, Promoter Ensures Royalty is Paid According to Rules

JAKARTA - Sammy Simorangkir will perform more than 23 songs in a concert celebrating two decades of work, with the title "20 Years of Sammy Simorangkir's Voice (20SSS)", held at Tennis Indoor Senayan on May 13.

For the concert promoted by We Offer Wonders and Enjoy Live Experience, Sammy will perform fan favorite songs, both those he has performed as a soloist and with Kerispatih, including the song written by Badai.

In this case, Dino Hamid from Enjoy Live Experience explained that there will be no legal problems for each song that will be presented. He guarantees that every work that is displayed will be paid royalties in accordance with the regulations.

"According to the rules and laws, indeed PP (Government Regulation) 56 (2021), it states that the song performed at a commercial concert must be paid for by the organizer. And we as organizers understand that performing rights must be paid," said Dino in a press conference at Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 14.

"So in my opinion, we have been very clear that we follow the existing regulations, that the organizer pays (royalties) based on 2 percent of the tickets sold," he continued.

In addition, Sammy explained, the promoter specifically asked for Kerispatih songs to be performed, considering his career journey in the music industry is inseparable from the band that has made his name.

"Like I said earlier to Mas Dino, what we have registered has been paid through the mechanism that has been created by the government. Because this is my two decades of musical journey, it is definitely from the promoter who requests the songs I have ever played, that's for sure. And until now, on the radio, it's still my voice that is played," said Sammy.

Apart from that, Arief Darussalam from We Offer Wonders ensures that the songs that Sammy performs on stage will invite fans to sing along.

"For the song list, of course the songs are prepared for us to sing together," said Arief.
