JAKARTA - The sad news that enveloped the hard rock world after the departure of the legend, Ozzy Osbourne, again brought up emotional facts.

As is known, Ozzy died at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025, just two weeks after his historic performance at the "Back to the Beginning" concert at Villa Park, Birmingham, England.

His wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, revealed that Ozzy actually realized that his time in this world was not long before he had a farewell concert with Black Sabbath.

Sharon said that the medical team had actually given a stern warning about Ozzy's declining health condition before his last concert. However, Ozzy's passion to meet his fans on stage could not be stopped by physical pain.

"Two weeks before the show, they (doctors) said he might die, and it turned out to be true. However, he really wanted to do it (the last concert)," Sharon said in a recent interview on the Dumb Blonde radio show.

According to Sharon, the musician with the nickname Prince of Darkness was fully aware of his critical condition, especially after he had struggled against sepsis in early 2025 which made his immune system drastically weakened.

Instead of choosing to rest at the hospital, Ozzy chose to close the curtain of his life on the music stage that had made his name.

"He needed it. He felt, 'Either I'm going to die in two weeks or six months, I'm still going to die. And I want to go my own way'. And he really did it. He left like a rock star," said the 73-year-old woman.

Sharon likened her husband's determination to someone who was very old but still chose the lifestyle he loved. For him, Ozzy died as a "king" who did not want to be dictated by his illness.

"When he came out of the hospital, they said, 'You know Ozzy, this could kill you'. And he replied, 'I'll still perform'. He went like a king. The point is when you've lived life that way, it feels like, 'Okay, another six months to go the way I want'," said Sharon.

"He loved people so much. He loved his audience so much. Even if you don't like his music, you can't hate him," he concluded.
