JAKARTA - Niall Horan brings good news for fans by confirming that his fourth solo album is almost finished.

The former One Direction member revealed that he was in the studio to polish the final details of his latest work which is scheduled to be released this year.

"I'm here finishing it now. So, I'm in the beat lab," Horan said during an interview with Zoom's Hits Radio Breakfast.

The album will be the successor to "The Show" which was released in 2023 and topped the charts in various countries.

Horan further explained that he is currently focusing on improving some technical parts to ensure perfect vocal quality before being released to the market.

"I'm just finishing up some vocal parts and stuff like that that I've been less than satisfied with. But yeah, I should have new music this year. And I'm really excited about it," he said.

The signal of Niall Horan's return has actually started to be felt since last week, through his collaboration with Myles Smith in the song "Drive Safe".

Horan said that working with Myles was a big responsibility because the song had a very personal meaning for the collaboration partner. He even admitted that he felt overwhelmed when asked to write the rest of the song.

"It's very difficult when someone asks you to do this because it's so close to his heart, something that's so serious for him," he said. "For me, coming and writing the rest with him is obviously a heavy task."

However, those doubts disappeared when the two met in the studio and found instant compatibility. "We just met and said we'll see what happens, and when we were in the studio together, everything clicked right away. The song meant something to me, and it meant something different to him, that's the great thing about this kind of collaboration."
