JAKARTA - Music promoter Ismaya Live is preparing to bring back the We The Fest event in 2026, after deciding to take a full rest last year.
Although none of the names have been announced as the official line-up, the promoter gave a strong signal to bring in the Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski.
Through the official Instagram account, Ismaya Live uploaded a video of Mitski greeting her fans in Indonesia, as well as introducing her new work.
"What's up Indonesia! This is Mitski," the 35-year-old musician said, trying to greet fans in Indonesian.
"My new single titled 'Where's My Phone' has been released. And my new album, titled 'Nothing's About to Happen to Me' will be released soon," he continued.
Furthermore, Mitski ensured that he would visit Indonesia in the near future, to introduce his latest work.
"I just want to say thank you so much for all your support over the years," Mitski said.
"And I'm very happy with our plans to visit Indonesia soon," he added. "I don't know when, but soon! Thank you."
There is no exact schedule given. However, the official Instagram account of We The Fest also uploaded Mitski's video.
Previously, Mitski announced that her eighth studio album titled "Nothing's About to Happen to Me" will be released on February 27.
The album will take listeners into a narrative centered on a female character who lives alone in an unkempt house.
In this album, Mitski explores the duality of the main character's life who is considered deviant by the outside world, but instead finds absolute freedom when in his own home.
Musically, Nothing's About to Happen to Me shows Mitski's totality as an artist, where she writes all the songs and fills all the vocals independently.
The production process was handled again by his loyal collaborator, Patrick Hyland, as a producer. While the mastering stage was done by Bob Weston.
