Sal Priadi to Padi Reborn: Thank you for being an inspiration to our generation

JAKARTA - Sal Priadi was present as one of the guest performers when Padi Reborn held a Two-Eight Concert at the Senayan Indoor Tennis, Central Jakarta on Saturday, January 31 evening.

The singer-songwriter from Malang appeared on stage after the show went on for two hours.

Sal's presence was greeted by the audience with cheers, while the Padi Reborn personnel went down the stage temporarily to take a break.

Sal started his performance alone on a 360-degree stage - performing "Rapuh", the first single from the album Save My Soul (2003), with only the accompaniment of the piano.

Immediately, thousands of spectators who filled the arena sang every verse of the song with the 33-year-old man.

Furthermore, Sal took the time to perform his own song, "Gala Bunga Matahari", which also made the audience - the majority of the millennial generation - sing along.

At the end of his performance, Sal again performed "Rapuh". But this time he was not alone. The five members of Padi Reborn returned to the stage to perform together.

Before leaving the stage, Sal took the time to greet and hug the five members of Padi Reborn.

In front of the Rice Friends - the nickname for Rice Reborn fans - Sal explained how the band had inspired him in music.

"Thank you Padi, thank you for being an inspiration for our generation," said Sal.

Sal is not the only guest performer who attended that night. Fanny Soegi also appeared on stage.

Fanny performed her duet song with Padi Reborn, "Blue Sky", which was released in 2024. She also performed her signature song, "Asmalibrasi".

Meanwhile, the Two Eight Concert lasted for almost three hours. Padi Reborn performed his signature songs, such as "Kasih Tak Sampai", "Semua Tak Sama", "Begitu Indah", "Menanti Sebuah Jawaban", "Mahadewi", and many more.

As the title suggests, the concert, which was held in collaboration with Northstar Entertainment, Megapro Communications, and Mata Elang Production, was intended as a celebration of 28 years since Padi was formed, as well as marking eight years since they returned after a vacuum and transformed into Padi Reborn.
