JAKARTA - Robbie Williams is on the verge of a major history in the world music industry. The former Take That member openly expressed his ambition to surpass The Beatles' record in terms of the most number one albums in the UK.

Through his 13th studio album, "BRITPOP", Williams is determined to cement his position as the most successful solo artist in the UK charts.

Currently, Robbie Williams and The Beatles are in a position parallel to the collection of 15 albums that topped the charts.

If the album "BRITPOP" which is scheduled to be released on February 6 manages to perch in the first position, then Williams will officially break the record of The Fab Four.

"Yes, I want it more than anything in my current career, of course I want it," Williams said in a recent interview on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2.

Despite having ambitions, the 51-year-old singer admitted that this achievement would bring mixed feelings for him, especially related to the imposter syndrome he often feels.

Williams feels there is a side of him who feels ashamed and does not believe he can stand up to big names like The Beatles. He likened his success to having managed to penetrate a matrix that he himself did not understand how the process could happen.

"Let me explain that I have damaged the matrix. When such a record is mentioned and it is me, I don't know how it could have happened, I only know that it happened," he said.

"It massively made my imposter syndrome come up and the first thing I felt was shame for it."

On the other hand, his professional ego still views this record as something very sacred. Williams emphasized that outside of family affairs, his wife and children, the record of the number one album is the most important thing in his life today.

He felt he had to take this opportunity with both hands, even though he himself still questioned whether he deserved such an honor.

"Do I think I deserve it? No. Am I on the verge of maybe achieving it? Yes. Should I grab it with both hands? Yes. And can I learn to be grateful and happy for it? Grateful, maybe, proud, I'm not sure, we'll see if that happens," he concluded.

Interestingly, Williams took a tactical step by delaying the release of the album "BRITPOP". Initially, the album was planned to be released early, but he chose to step back to avoid direct competition with Taylor Swift's album "The Life Of A Showgirl".

The album "BRITPOP" itself has been promoted through a number of singles, such as "Rocket" which features a guitar riff from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, as well as other songs such as "Spies", "Human", and "Pretty Face".

Amid his burgeoning solo ambitions, Williams also dropped a hint about the possibility of a future reunion with Take That, which would surely be welcome news for his loyal fans.
