Collaborating with Rian D'Masiv, Judika Starts the Year with an Exploration of Folk Music Style in the Single Terpikat Pada Cinta

JAKARTA - Judika opened the 2026 page with an unusual musical surprise. Through the latest song, "Terpikat Pada Cinta", the 47-year-old soloist decided to get out of his musical comfort zone.

This time, Judika chose to explore the nuances of folk music, a bold move that gave a fresh color in his long journey in the Indonesian music industry.

The song, which was officially released today, is the result of a collaboration between Semesta Records and PT Dua Anak Deo. Behind the scenes, Rian Ekky Pradipta (Rian D'Masiv) acts as a producer together with Dawairama.

Rian's presence gives a different touch which Judika himself admits is a unique experience. Judika admitted that he had completely handed over the creative process to Rian to get a new perspective.

"I leave and entrust the production of this song entirely to Rian, because I want Rian D'Masiv's touch in producing this song 100 percent," said Judika in his statement, Wednesday, January 14.

"So I just sing it. It's really special, like I'm moving house, there's a sense of Rian that Judika sings in this song," he added.

"Terpikat Pada Cinta" itself was born from the cold hands of Melinda E, who said that her work began from a personal interest in the very broad essence of love.

Starting from a doodle, the lyrics then caught Rian's attention, until it finally transformed into a complete song. For Melinda, this is a milestone in her career, because for the first time her song was performed by Indonesia's top singers.

"At first I was just curious and interested in the love that was spilled in the writing, then Kak Rian saw my writing and liked it. Finally this song was born," said Melinda E.

"And I've always loved Bang Judika's voice. It's cool, finally my song can be sung by Bang Judika," he continued.

Even though it carries a folk genre that tends to be simpler, Judika still doesn't lose its fangs. Rian as a producer admitted to being surprised by Judika's ability to give life to the song.

"The folk music character actually brings a new color to Judika. We hope that this choice of music genre can become something new in Bang Judika's musical career journey," said Rian.

The production process itself starts from a workshop to adjust the tone ladder and arrangement that fits the strong vocal character of Judika.

As for Judika, the main challenge in this song is not in vocal technique alone, but in the depth of emotion that must be conveyed. He must be able to divide his feelings into two different poles in one song duration.

"In this song I have to convey two different sides. There are two sides that I have to convey, namely conveying this lyric in the state of falling in love and conveying in the time I was hurt by love," said Judika. "So there are two moments that I have to convey in one song."

The hard work of the team in this song is expected to be able to touch the hearts of listeners. Rian hopes that "Terpikat Pada Cinta" can become one of the works that will be etched in the hearts of Indonesian music lovers. In line with this, Judika hopes that this song can become a support for anyone who is going through happy times or the most painful times of love.
