Ade Govinda and Aisha Retno Promote Single Semoga Saja, Target Malaysia After Indonesia

JAKARTA - The collaboration between Indonesian musician Ade Govinda and Malaysian singer Aisha Retno in the single "Semoga Saja" has entered a new phase.

Although the song was released last September, the two only started the intensive promotion phase towards the end of the year.

Ade said the launch of this single coincided with their respective busy schedules, so the right moment to launch the promotion in earnest was only in December.

Aisha also flew from Malaysia to Jakarta, to introduce her first collaboration single with Ade.

After a series of agendas in Indonesia, this cross-border collaboration ensures that the Malaysian market becomes the next target.

"It's a chance to promote in December. After this, we're also going to Malaysia to promote 'Semoga Saja'," said Ade Govinda, when met at the MyMusic Records office in Cilandak, South Jakarta, Monday, December 15.

The decision to directly promote in two countries (Indonesia and Malaysia) shows the seriousness of this project.

Aisha Retno, who is of Malaysian-Indonesian descent, also sees great potential in this song, given that both countries have similar languages and musical cultures.

"I often try to make songs that can be accepted in both (Indonesia and Malaysia)," said Aisha, who admitted that she was open to expanding her career in Indonesia.

According to Aisha, currently sad songs and slow ballads are the dominant trend in both countries. "What is trending in Indonesia, it must be trending in Malaysia because we are related," he said.

This gives great optimism for the single "Semoga Saja" which raises the theme of "failed to move on" with a positive message.

Interestingly, Ade Govinda sees this collaboration as a "destiny", because the chemistry and frequency quickly developed with Aisha, even though they are relatively new to know.

This same frequency allows for quick collaboration, from content to lyrics.

"This is a ballad song but a ballad song that is a little different because the arrangement is also made by me at the end there is folk," explained Ade.

Aisha also expressed her hope to be able to perform live with Ade Govinda on the Malaysian and Indonesian stages.
