Nowela Entertains Ambon Prison Inmates With Christmas Nuance Song

AMBON - Singer with a golden voice, Nowela Mikhelia enlivened the 2025 Christmas celebration at the Class IIA Penitentiary (Lapas) Ambon. He entertained the inmates with the song O Holy Night which was popularized by Mariah Carey.

Head of Class IIA Ambon Prison, Hendra Budiman, in Ambon, Tuesday said the presence of outstanding national musicians such as Nowella provides a new atmosphere full of hope for the inmates.

"Christmas celebrations in prisons are not just worship ceremonies, but reflection and self-rescuity momentum. Nowela's presence provides positive energy and motivation for inmates to continue to improve and organize the future," he said, quoting ANTARA, December 9.

Nowela looks simple but elegant in a black sleeveless dress that gives an elegant and charismatic impression. Her hair is neatly arranged pulled back, highlighting her expressive face when singing a reflexive spiritual song.

With one hand holding the microphone and the other hand holding it as if inviting the whole congregation to absorb the lyrics of the song, his appearance looks full of appreciation.

The light of a soft room combined with a Christmas-themed decoration background makes Nowela's appearance even more lively, as if she brings a shady atmosphere as well as full of hope for the inmates who listen solemnly.

In this regard, Hendra added, coaching through religious activities is one of the main pillars in the social reintegration process, including presenting inspirational figures who can provide moral boosts directly.

Meanwhile, Nowela admitted that she was touched to be able to appear and share the joy of Christmas with the inmates.

"This is not just singing, but being an inner experience. I feel warmly welcomed, and seeing their smile when the song is sung is an extraordinary moment," said Nowela.

He hopes that the Christmas celebration will be an opportunity for the inmates to renew their enthusiasm, forgive themselves, and dare to move on to a better life.

The Christmas celebration ceremony at the Class IIA Ambon Prison took place solemnly and familiarly with the series of worship, the appearance of the choir of the inmates, to the sharing session of Christmas messages which closed with an atmosphere of togetherness.
