JAKARTA - In the midst of the change in regulations for managing national music royalties, Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) as a Collective Management Institute (LMK) succeeded in completing the distribution of royalties for the third period of 2025 worth IDR 36.9 billion.
This distribution is proof that the actual database is now the main determinant in the distribution of the rights of creators a step called WAMI strengthens the transparency of the music ecosystem.
In distributing royalties, WAMI announced a list of composers with the highest royalties. Big names in the music industry are also included in the list, including Roby Satria (one of the songwriters 'Mangu' as well as Geisha personnel).
Furthermore, there is Muthoillah Rizal Affandi (Wrote Yasir Lana), Baskara Putra alias Hindia (Creator of the song Rumah Ke Rumah as well as frontman Feast and Magic Competition), and Fiersa Besari (Creator of the song Runuh).
The list underlines who are the most widely used musicians and reported in the period May to September 2025.
This distribution has different characteristics. WAMI decided not to apply the minimum royalty payment, which means that royalties are only given to creators and rights holders whose work use has actually been reported and has been paid by the user.
Consequently, the number of royalty recipients in this period is less than before. However, the President Director of WAMI, Adi Adrian, assessed that this actually strengthens the principle of sharing based on actual data and valid verification.
"This is important, because WAMI remains committed to implementing transparent and accurate royalty distribution in order to support the sustainability of the Indonesian music ecosystem," said Adi Adrian through a press release received by VOI, Tuesday, December 9.
WAMI ensures that the royalties paid are the result of reports on the use of songs and payments received from users during the May-September 2025 period, not based on the date of use of their works. Data or payments that enter after that period will be processed in the next distribution.
A detailed distribution report has also been sent to all royalty recipients on December 4, 2025, and the fund transfer process starts today, four working days after the report is published.

In an effort to improve services, WAMI also consistently strengthens their internal data management system. One of the main instruments in this process is ATLAS' an integrated database system of staff and portals.
This system allows creators and publishers to monitor the catalog of works, reporting status, and distribution history more easily and accurately.
Adi added that the use of ATLAS is a strategic step in building modern and reliable royalty governance.
This system is claimed to be able to improve the accuracy of data verification, minimize potential mismatching of works, and ensure the calculation and distribution of royalty runs more accurately and transparently.
This step shows WAMI's commitment to upholding the values of Kredibility, Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability (KITA) in the midst of a large period of regulatory adjustments.
