Wins Second Victory At AMI Awards, Dere: Thank You To The Soul That Hears Blue

JAKARTA - Theresia Margaretha Gultom, better known as Dere, came out as one of the winners on the awarding night of the 2025 Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards which was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, November 19.

Through the first single Blue song from the album Berbunga (2025) Dere won the second victory in the category of Best Folk/Country/Balada Production Work.

The 23-year-old songwriters excel from Banda Neira (It's OK To Admit Tired); Falls Leave (To Always Happy); Feby Putri (Government); and Iksan Skutter, Jason Ranti and Bagus Dwi Danto (Who Never).

Receiving the winning trophy with Yoseph Sitompul a joint songwriter and producer Dere expressed his gratitude for the award.

"Thank you very much to the AMI Awards for your appreciation for the song 'Blue'," said Dere in his winning speech.

"Thank you very much to everyone who has been involved, thank you very much for the Three Two Ones (music labels) who have given me space to express themselves," he continued.

Not much was stated by Dere when he received the AMI trophy. He continued his speech to express his gratitude to the other parties.

"Thank you very much Bang Yoseph as the producer of 'Blue', thank you very much to Kak Tulus for accompanying me to write a song," added Dere. And thank you very much to the souls who have heard, thank you very much Close Dere (fan base), thank you very much everyone."

This victory is not just validation, but affirmation of Dere's position as one of the most essential songwriters in his current genre.

The song, which describes a meeting between falling in love and doubt, confirmed the dominance of Dere in the Folk/Country/Balada category.

This is the second time Dere has conquered the same category. Previously, at the 2021 AMI Awards, Dere won the Best Folk/Country/Balada Production trophy through his provocative single, Heasik.

If 'Given up' is a sharp critique of the bustle and demands of the world, then 'Blue' is an bidder of a warm hug that invites listeners to make peace with imperfections.

Two works of different emotional spectra, but both lead Dere to the pinnacle of appreciation. This shows that Dere's main strength lies in his ability to string words into a universal personal experience.

Dere's work in the music industry is a journey that was built slowly, far from the spotlight of instant dramas. The Voice Kids Indonesia's first season in 2016 was initially eliminated in the semifinals. However, Tulus' joint experience as a coach and joining under the label Tiga Dua Satu became a strong foundation.

Originally known for the song Kota, which had broken the nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2021 AMI Awards, Dere then released his first album, "Rubik", in 2022.
