Zakk Wylde Reveals Ozzy Osbourne's Plan To Work On New Albums Before He Dies

JAKARTA - Zakk Wylde revealed the plan of Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne who did not arrive because the singer nicknamed the Prince of Darkness had to leave the world first.

Wylde, who has been an inseparable part of Ozzy's solo band for nearly four decades, said that the latter communication with the heavy metal pioneer led to a grand plan to cultivate new works.

The guitarist 58 said Ozzy wanted an album that had an feel in the early 1990s, back to the heyday of their collaboration.

"He texted me, 'Zakk, let's make another record. Because I really like it when you go through the Allman Brothers phase, (Lynyrd) Skynyrd when we work on 'No More Tears'. The music is tough but more melodic. Not too hitting.'" Wylde said, revealing details of Osbourne's message, quoted by Blabbermouth, Sunday, November 9.

Ozzy's wish refers to the album No More Tears (1991), which does feature a mix of heavy metal with a touch of melody and typical Southern rock a formula he clearly wants to repeat.

At that time, Wylde without thinking immediately gave Osbourne an invitation. "So, I said, 'Good, Oz. Whatever you want.'" he said.

Unfortunately, the album plan that will revive the glory of the No More Tears era is just a memory.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, after battling siner arteries and parkinson, with a heart attack as the main cause of his departure.

Wylde sendiri selalu mengenang kebaikan dan dukungan penggemar sejak hari-hari pertamanya.

"This is a house built by Rhoads," he concluded, recognizing Rhoads' role in paving the way for his career.
