JAKARTA - Drummer Josh Freese is certain to reunite with alternative rock band Weezer for a series of tour schedules in South America which will begin in November.

This assurance was revealed through his own social media account Freese, where he uploaded a drum set with the Weezer emblem.

"Prepared to head to South America with some old friends," Freese wrote, citing an upload caption, Friday, October 31.

In the upcoming tour series, Freese and Weezer will visit Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Santiago.

Freese is not a new figure for the band known as the song Island in The Sun. He was once a session drummer for the Weezer tour from 2007 to 2012.

Interestingly, Freese is currently also busy with his role as drummer for Nine Inch Nails, having previously left Foo Fighters.

Freese's move from Foo Fighters earlier this year was in the spotlight. He joined Dave Grohl cs as session drummer on the 2023 tour, replacing the late Taylor Hawkins who died suddenly in March 2022.

But in May, Foo Fighters announced that they had released Freese from its position.

Freese admitted the news of the dismissal shocked and disappointed him. At that time, he wrote, "Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know that they decided to take a different direction from their drummer. No reason was given. Regardless, I enjoyed the last two years with them, both on and off stage, and I supported whatever they thought was best for the band.", then in July, the position of drummer Foo Fighters was filled by Ilan Rubin of Nine Inch Nails, who also marked the exchange of musicians between the two bands.

Nine Inch Nails confirmed Rubin' departure, then shared a Freese photo with the caption "Let's Do It".

Freese itself rejoined Nine Inch Nails last month for the Peel It Back tour in North America.
