JAKARTA - Guns N' Roses iconic guitarist Slash expressed great doubts about the possibility of his band holding a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere futuristic venue.

Musician, whose real name is Saul Hudson, assessed that the stage, known for his cutting-edge visual technology, is not very friendly for rock and roll.

Slash does not deny that Sphere is an extraordinary venue for music performances. However, he expressed his uncertainty about Sphere's suitability for pure rock performances.

"Everything I've seen, or almost everything I've seen from it (Sphere), looks amazing," Slash said in a recent interview with Eddie Trunk Nation's SiriusXM Trunk Nation.

"I was really worried to appear there, because... it was a great visual show. I think, for a band, almost in every case, it became a visual show instead of seeing rock and roll performances. So, there's that," he continued.

The 60-year-old guitarist also revealed that he had discussions with the guitarist of the Eagles, Joe Walsh, who had experienced playing at Sphere.

"(My concern) is that it's not really rock and roll friendly, from the way it's arranged. So it's just one thing that looks cool, and conceptually there might be a lot of cool things you can do," he said. But I don't think it's the right environment for real rock and roll shows.

However, Slash said a band he thought would be suitable for the venue was Metallica.

"I can see them doing it because I can imagine them... because you have to prepare your mind to show not just a band show, but 50 percent of what you do will be projected, or whatever you call it," he said.

"So that's what will be the main focus of your show and the main focus of what everyone will see. And you have to get into that mindset and I think it's hard for us to go that far."

However, he did not completely close the door "But we'll see. Maybe in the future," he concluded.
