JAKARTA - Pop star and actress Ariana Grande revealed a surprising fact in which she almost left the world of music because she felt she would not be releasing an album again. The moment came after Grande got a role in the musical Wicked.

The We Can't Be Friends' singer said he had thought about quitting his total music after being selected to play the character Glinda in the film adaptation from the popular Broadway show.

The album was before being involved in a film project, 'Positions', which was released in 2020, was originally intended as its final work.

"I really didn't expect to make another album," Grande said as a guest on Evan's Shut Up podcast.

"When I went to London, it was kind of my secret, but I really didn't think I would do it," he added.

But unexpectedly, his role as Glinda in the film Wicked actually provides a complete rearrangement of everything about his relationship with his work. That role became an inspirational spark that brought him back to record his latest album, Eternal Sunshine, which was released in 2024 and managed to top the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks.

"I feel a sincere spark, such as reconnection and inspiration, and something" I mean, maybe I miss him," said the 32-year-old singer.

Now, Grande is preparing for a limited tour schedule for 2026 to support the album Eternal Sunshine.
