The Knotfest Riot Ends The Burning Of Evanescence's Musical Instruments

JAKARTA - Cancel mentas and concert riots are not only happening in Indonesia. When our eyes were on the rioting at a Musicology event held in Senayan, Jakarta last weekend, at the same time, a concert riot occurred in Mexico.

One of the victims of this riot was metal band Evanescence. Some of the band's stage equipment belonging to Amy Lee et al. Reportedly caught fire after the Knotfest event was stopped before the last two bands; Evanescence and Slipknot appear on stage.

The latest edition of the festival with a 'traveling' concept takes place at Parque Deportivo Oceania in Mexico City. Slipknot heads the festival which also includes Evanescence, Behemoth, Godsmack, Bullet For My Valentine, and many more.

However, Slipknot had to cancel their appearance due to the breakdown of the barricades and failed attempts to repair the damage. Evanescence was also forced to cancel their action because of the same problem.

"Due to a broken barricade and unsuccessful attempts to repair it, Slipknot was forced to cancel our performance last night," the Iowa-based band that initiated the event wrote in a joint statement on Twitter.

“Safety - especially the safety of our fans and fellow bands - is priority number one. We apologize profusely and hope you all understand. If something happens to either of you, we won't forgive ourselves. Also, if we can fix the barricades properly, we will take the stage. Again, we hope you all understand and we'll try to make up for it as soon as possible. "

Meanwhile Evanescence, shared a video of clarification via Instagram:

"We are heartbroken, we cannot play for you tonight, México City," the band said in their video upload. “Your safety, your life is more important than any show! We love you and we'll be right back, that's a promise. "

Ironically, after the news of the cancellation was issued, several festival goers stormed the stage and destroyed various equipment, including Evanescence's.

"People attending the festival continued to throw items on stage after the announcement of the cancellation and caused serious damage to Evanescence's equipment," wrote a tweet on the Evanescence fan page.

One fan in attendance responded to the breakdown of musical instruments by writing: "Today when I went to #KnotFest I was expecting a grand and cool festival. I got this in exchange. It doesn't represent metalheads or Mexicans. Just idiots who don't. can behave well. "

Slipknot again took to Twitter to comment further on the cancellation of Knotfest Mexico, stating that they hoped to perform that day, but sadly, a situation arose on stage after the cancellation was announced which resulted in the equipment being used destroyed.
