JAKARTA - Melanie Subono has re-launched her latest musical work, this time through a single titled Eve Membara. The song, which was performed in a duet with Fia Fellow, has a non-commercial essence, in accordance with the characteristics of Melanie's release, which often raises social, national issues, and things that disturb her conscience.

Hawa Membara specifically tells the story of a woman' or a woman who burns her passion, energy, and desire to fight and act.

This song is actually not new material for Melanie. The production was delayed for several years due to various obstacles. Uniquely, this song is presented by the drummer for the band Superman is Dead (SID), Jerinx, especially for Melanie.

Melanie explained that the process behind the creation of this song began with her desire to see other people's perspectives on her.

"I've been making my own songs. So I thought I wanted to know what other people saw me, without me giving any briefings," Melanie said in her statement, Friday, October 3.

"I don't give the music genre, don't give the theme or anything. I want to know 'how do you see me?', and maybe I'm in Jerinx's eyes," he continued.

This collaboration extends the track record of the cooperation between Melanie and the band from Bali, considering that they had collaborated on the song 'Falling Down' in 2004.

Melanie's decision to collaborate with Fia Fellow to bring Hawa Membara is not without reason. This is closely related to the concept of the packaging of the song she wants.

Melanie wants this song to sound simple, not dominated by noisy guitar distortions, but focuses on clearly heard lyrics and vocals. This consideration is based on the importance of deep meaning of the lyrics presented.

"This song is not made noisy, just guitars, simple ballads, and it must be girls who carry it," said Melanie.

Fia herself is known as a musician, guitarist, songwriter, and producer who has been in the music industry for a long time.

For technical matters of 'mixing and mastering' this song was entrusted to Hamid Alatas, who is also Melanie's partner at Studio Simima. Meanwhile, the recording process was carried out by Fia and Putra Syah at the Sound's Better Pop Studio.

Through Hawa Membara, Melanie Subono expressed high hopes that women will be moved to act and not just remain silent. He emphasized that the struggle for women is in the hands of the woman herself.
