Monica Karina Reveals Experience Of Learning From Anderson .Paak Through DistILLed Sounds

JAKARTA - Monica Karina shared the story she brought from her involvement in DistILLed Sounds, a global music event held by Jameson and led directly by a well-known musician from the US, Anderson .Paak.

Monica herself became the first Indonesian artist to join the Distilled Sounds family, which in her last event was attended by 20 musicians from all over the world who had been gathering for a full week in Cavan, Ireland.

Monica said that her participation in Distilled Sounds provided many experiences that made her develop into a better musician. The workshop from world musicians is said to be one of the most impactful sessions for her.

"From start to finish, we are really given space to work and learn from people who have been chosen from the Jameson team to give the best workshops in their fields," said Monica in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, September 26.

"So all the workshops that were there, in my opinion, taught us a lot," he continued. After the workshop is finished, they are also very open to us asking questions or we exchange contacts.

One of the most memorable workshops, said Monica, came from an animator who worked on music videos for Anderson.Paak.

"He talked about what the manufacturing process was like. And it turns out, Anderson. Paak as a collaborator really released anyone who worked with him to work," said Monica.

"That, in my opinion, is something fresh to hear, from someone who is already at such a level," he added.

Not only receiving training through workshop sessions, Monica also had the opportunity to collaborate with EU. CLIDES (Portugal) and Kethan (Kenya) in a song called Inventate, a fusion that is powerful for uniting three languages, accompanied by a touch of orutu traditional instrument from Kenya.

For Jameson Indonesia, Monica Karina's involvement is not just a personal achievement, but also proof that Indonesian music has great potential on the global stage.

Through this platform, local musicians can be connected to international musicians. They share perspectives and grow together globally.
