Surreal Moment Rock Legends Perform With Dewa 19

JAKARTA - Dewa 19 concluded its grand celebration with a concert titled Dewa 19 Featuring All Stars 2.0, held on Saturday, September 6th at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Senayan, Jakarta. The Surabaya-born band performed with a core lineup led by Ahmad Dhani as keyboardist, vocalist, and music director.

The core quartet still consisted of Andra Ramadhan on guitar, Yuke Sampurna on bass, and Agung "Gimbal" Yudha on drums. A host of Indonesian vocalists also enlivened the atmosphere, including Ari Lasso, Ello, Virzha, and Lilo KLa.

It still felt surreal when Eric Martin and Billy Sheehan performed the hit "Mr. BIG" at GBK, alongside Dewa 19 members. It was a surreal moment that Ahmad Dhani described as a "world first."

The Mr. BIG vocalist also validated Dewa 19 as the most famous band in Indonesia. There was a sense of pride in seeing the rock legends acknowledge the greatness of their juniors.

Gary Cherone of Extreme, along with Dino Jelusick, former vocalist of Whitesnake, performed the timeless anthem "More Than Words." The atmosphere in the stadium instantly became warm and intimate as tens of thousands of fans sang along, making this moment one of the most emotional highlights of the concert.

Equally impressive was the appearance of world-renowned guitar hero Steve Vai. With lightning-fast fingers and melodic playing, his performance captivated the 60,000 people at GBK that night. Dhani was proud to bring Steve Vai and Gary Cherone together on one stage.

Not to be missed were Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Derek Sherinian, who made the Dewa 19 Featuring All Stars 2.0 concert a sweet memory for Dewa 19 and Baladewa. While there were some points to consider, the concert was well worth it, as it was a pleasure to witness these world-class rock legends on stage.
