Grammy Museum Captures 80 Era Rock Music Celebration: The Liarst Music Decade

JAKARTA - Rock music empowerment in the 80th era was considered not to have received the proper appreciation. With a glamorous and thick eyeliner style that became a characteristic, this era became one of the golden ages of music.

Realizing this, the Grammy Museum at Mississipi wanted to pay tribute to the decade. They also made an exhibition with a inspiring title: Rock 80s: The Liarst Decade in the Music Industry.

This exhibition will invite music lovers to re-trace the history of rock in that era. It will also be described how the visual trend brought by musicians at that time marked the times.

The Grammy Museum plans to open this exhibition from September 26 to 2026. Several memorabilia from the top bands and musicians will be displayed, including collections from Skid Rown, Guns N' Roses. Motley Crue and many more.

"We are excited to be able to launch our new special exhibition, '80s Rock: The Longest Decade in Music'," said Emily Havens, executive director of the Mississippi Grammy Museum, citing Billboard, August 29.

"This music genre is not just one of my favorites, but the bands that started their careers at the Sunset Strip over the past decade also have a sustainable impact on the younger generation. We are here to give the hair metal and glam metal bands a proper award and tell the story of one of the least appreciated music genres in rock history."

Pre-events will be held on September 25, featuring Twisted Sisters and their perspective on the 80th generation of music.
