JAKARTA - 19-year-old singer and songwriter, Rol3ert, added to his latest music catalog through the single 'say my name'. The Japanese artist's fifth single rolled out globally on August 27 via EXciter Records and FRIENDSHIP.

say my name marks a new chapter for Rol3ert as his first alternative ballad, which was produced with Yuto Uchino, the main vocalist of the famous Japanese indie band The fin.. This song was built on a melancholic guitar riff, live drums (carried by Yusuke Okada from the indie pop band BROTHER SUN SISTER MOON), and a sparkling synth, wrapped up the weakly soft Rol3ert vocals and almost cried in the quiet but strong sound landscape.

The lyrics reflect on the life, death, symbolic love, and traces of the name that lags behind, linking the loss with the desire to leave an imprinted trace. Rol3ert, who usually makes demonstrations alone, invited Uchino to join this song, enriching its scale and atmosphere. He described it as one of his biggest works to date.

The production process started when I heard a demonstration of various voices immediately formed in my head. Meeting Rol3ert and feeling his presence and personality made me feel as if everything about him had turned into music," said Uchino about his collaboration, in a written broadcast on August 27.

"While recording vocals and drums, I saw him really enjoying the process it reminds me of the pure happiness I felt when I first started my band. I was excited to see the moment he spread his wings from Japan to the rest of the world, and I can't wait to see where his career journey will take him.

The music video for the song 'say my name' can be watched starting August 27 at 10:00 p.m. JST on YouTube, preceded by the first live Instagram broadcast of Rol3ert in the last six months at 9:30 p.m. JST night. Regarding the artwork single, this music video depicts two symbolic worlds: The 'white' Roll3ert who ventured along the shore and the black' Rol3ert in the basement - a visual metaphor for duality between life after death and reality, memory and existence.
