Ari Lasso Reveals Reasons For Not Joining ACTION Or VISION

JAKARTA - Ari Lasso said he was not in the ACTION camp or VISION. Having friends in the two movements, he chose to be neutral.

As a senior singer, the former vocalist of Dewa 19, admitted that Armand Maulana had invited him to join VISION. However, he has different principles that were conveyed to Armand, so he is no longer invited.

"I was offered Armand, at that time I was in Japan for the new year. 'So, you have to be on the VISION, we were attacked by ACTION, we were billed. You are a senior singer and still productive, what do you think?'," Ari Lasso said on Soleh Solihun's YouTube channel which aired August 25.

Ari replied in principle as a singer that they had to pay royalties. And he has done it direct licensing, to Ahmad Dhani and Ricky FM two of them.

"Yes, if we are singers, then pay. What's the problem, we won't waste our money. I've been doing this to Dhani since 2003, you know," he said.

Meanwhile, he also did not choose to join the ACTION because he felt he had not yet become a qualified songwriter. For him, the struggle is not about choosing a camp, but focuses on the goal of suppressing individuals who are looking for their own benefits in the industry.

"The problem is not about ACTION and VISION. We unite, we destroy the ghost of the blau who stands around," he said.

Ari Lasso is one of the figures who has relevance of royalty management problems through his case with WAMI. He hopes that his contribution will be able to make the Indonesian music ecosystem healthy.

Currently, royalty regulations have become one of the main issues in the DPR. With the frozen LMK for two months, the government is trying to find a solution to solve the gap between interests in the music scene.
