Not Only Demanding Rights, Ari Lasso Claims To Always Obey Royalty

JAKARTA - Ari Lasso continues to criticize the performance of Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) and the system of Collective Management Institutions (LMK) as a whole.

This time, the former vocalist of Dewa 19, took another point of view, not as songwriters as copyright and related rights owners, but as event organizers (EO) who paid royalties.

Through an Instagram upload, Ari stated that he also runs a business called Acteeve Indonesia.

Dear WAMI and LMK. I am also a player in the EO/agenty industry. And I and my EO, Acteeve Indonesia, always fulfill our obligations," Ari wrote, citing the caption of the upload, Thursday, August 14.

"On top, I attach proof of collection and proof of payment and certificate. Thank you," he added.

He also uploaded proof of payment of three of the last four events carried out by Acteeve Indonesia.

The temporary invoice of the Spotifyhir Project event was issued on December 23, 2024, with a payment value of IDR 6,660.00.

Furthermore, the Spotify Carat Station event invoice was issued on January 24, 2025 with a nominal value of Rp. 6,660,000. Then the Unqualified Two Star event was issued on February 18, 2025 with a payment value of Rp. 13,651,690.

"So, don't think I'm just demanding a right, but I've also fulfilled my obligations as an industrial stakeholder who uses music as an element in our activities," said Ari.

Previously, Ari Lasso sent a petition to conduct an audit of WAMI. He requested that EO, management of artists, promoters, cafe entrepreneurs, karaoke, restaurants, and other parties with an interest in supporting the petition.

"Yukkk, who agrees to the petition 'palize your hand!' said Ari.

Ari suggested that these parties jointly rent an independent auditor to examine WAMI.

"And we should not ask for help from the BPK or the KPK or anyone else, they must be busy with more urgent national affairs. We just jointly rent an independent auditor institution," said Ari.

"If the money is enough, for example Price Waterhouse Cooper (which audits). But I'm sure friends who have auditors will help with their hands to help with this struggle," he added.

To the WAMI representative, the proof of the conversation uploaded by Ari has also stated his attitude that he does not want to be silent. He wants the problem to be resolved and the public is luminous.

"I will continue to post this case thoroughly. Because I don't want to be accused of being a musician or a netizen, but suddenly it's quiet, are there special deals," said Ari. We are waiting for an explanation of the calculation formula openly. Music stakeholders have the right to know.
