JAKARTA - Dua Lipa finally officially has Kosovo citizenship. This was known through the statement of President Vjosa Osmani on X.

"Welcome back, Two!" wrote the President Kosovo in his caption last weekend.

In several uploaded photos, Osmani and Lipa look happy with this citizenship status. The 29-year-old soloist is even referred to as the most iconic cultural figure in Kosovo's history.

"Today, through the president's decree, I have the honor to give the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo to one of the most iconic cultural figures in the history of our country," said Osmani.

Two and Kosovo are always inseparable. From the world's largest stage to the hearts of millions of people, he has brought our stories with strength, pride, and misery. He has broken boundaries, made history, and reminded the world that greatness begins by knowing who you are and where you come from," he added. In addition, Lipa sees this moment as a reply to her love for Kosovo.

"This completes the duality I've always had. I love this country and it means a lot to me and my family," Lipa said.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa was born in London, England from the parents of Kosovo-Albania. He had lived in the capital Pristina since he was 11 years old, when his parents returned after Kosovo became independent.

Lipa has often expressed her love for Kosovo, and is known to establish a charity that focuses on helping vulnerable communities there.

That way, Dua Lipa is recorded as having three citizenships, namely England, Albania, and Kosovo.

He was given Albania citizenship in 2022 for his services in promoting the country through music and fame.

Lipa was also awarded the title of Honorary Ambassador Kosovo by the president in 2022.
