Salah Display Becomes The Opening Market For Jason Ranti And Dongker Collaboration Albums

Dongker and Jason Ranti prepare a collaboration album, launching August 2025 (Ist)

JAKARTA - It's not hard to imagine the collaboration between Jason Ranti and Dongker on the music stages. But both of them wanted a few steps further by committed to working on a collaborative album.

These two musicians fused into one not only about music but also because of dreams, unrest, and love that met in Bandung. The background of art education and personal experience in the City of Kembang, succeeded in making Dongker and Jason Ranti spawn an album entitled 'Jason Ranti I Don't Know and I Dongker.'

This eight-track album tells how romanticism is to fine arts and Bandung from the point of view of critical, personal, and unique Jason Ranti and Dongker.

The album's journey starts from Salah Display, a single that becomes the starting picture of its collaboration project. Here they try to explore the narrative about fine art that feels very strong from start to finish. The artist character named Jim Supangkat was chosen by both of them as the main character in this single.

"The song 'Salah Display' tells the story of our version of art romance, which is actually not romantic at all, more about our experience with fine arts because it turns out that apart from music, Jason Ranti and Dongker slices are in Fine Arts." added Delpi.

Jason Ranti and Dongker's arts spirit was also embodied in installations displayed on Tuesday Sunaryo, Bandung at the Glad Bersamamu exhibition. Together with more than 300 artists, the installation that visualizes the song Salah Display comes strikingly.

The installation is a form of apprepriation from the work of Jim Supangkat's Ken Dedes (1975), which is very legendary. In the second version of the installation, they displayed aprision works with a typical Dongker mask wrapped in pink nuances from Jason Ranti, styrofoam material, as well as pictures of LOose pants and Samba shoes.

Interestingly, the work, which was exhibited from May 11-31, also presents a small amplitude that can play Salah Display exclusively. Where, when heard directly on the Sunaryo Tuesday, Salah Display will provide a surprising element that will not appear when officially released on the digital music platform.

"Our meeting was not due to music. But artistic accidents that happen to be albums." Jason Ranti concluded about his collaboration with Dongker.

After the installation of 'Salah Display' was exhibited at the Sunaryo Tuesday and officially released at the end of May, the stage collaboration between Jason Ranti and Dongker continued to two music events: Tau Tau Festival on May 31, 2025 and Soeka Music Festival in Solo on June 1, 2025. These two appearances are the starting moments of their series of collaborations on stage.

The entire content of this collaboration album will be widely presented starting August 2025. Jason Ranti and Dongker are also preparing a showcase as an initial presentation of the entire album to listeners in person.
