Olivia Rodrigo And Gracie Abrams Express Support For Children In Palestine

JAKARTA - Two young pop stars, Olivia Rodrigo and Gracie Abrams, both refused to remain silent when they saw many children in Palestine starving.

Through their respective Instagram Stories, Rodrigo and Abrams re-shared posts from a child content creator, Ms. Rachel, who is known for her vocals in supporting Palestinians while calling for help in some of Gaza's hungry areas over the past two years.

"I never thought I would see the babies being left starving on purpose while the supply of formula milk was abandoned, just remote miles," the post reads, quoted Thursday, July 24.

"I never thought people I respect who always defend children would see them too, and remain SILENT."

Rodrigo and Abrams also supported Rachel's statement by liking the post.

Previously, Rodrigo also criticized the terrible conditions in Gaza, calling what happened to the residents there completely unacceptable.

"There are no words to describe the sadness I feel watching the destruction that befell innocent people in Palestine," Rodrigo wrote. "Mothers, fathers, and children in Gaza are starving, dehydrated, and have no access to basic medical care and humanitarian assistance."

Humanitarian support for Palestinians is often shown by world musicians. Names such as Drake, Jennifer Lopez, and Dua Lipa signed Artists4Ceasefire letters in 2023.

Recently, Lana Del Rey through her Instagram account also invited her followers to pray for Palestine every day.

The winner of nine Grammys, Billie Eilish also criticized Israel's plans "which he called terrible" to forcibly transfer Palestinians to other parts of Gaza.
