Lesti Kejora Holds Back Tears When Testifying At The Material Test Session Of The Copyright Law At The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - Lesti Kejora was present to testify as a witness in the judicial review of the Copyright Law at the Constitutional Court today, Tuesday, July 22.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old dancer became one of the witnesses proposed by 29 singers from the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION) as the Petitioner for case Number 28/PUU/PAN.MK/ARPK/03/2025.

In her statement, Lesti shared her experience dealing with legal problems, where she as a singer, was reported by Yoni Dores as a songwriter. This case is still ongoing in the police and has not come to light.

Lesti as the reported party has not even received a call from the police to explain Yoni Dores' report.

"I am still being hanged as the reported party, and it has a negative impact on me," said Lesti.

Rizky Billar's wife seemed to hold back tears when delivering her testimony as a witness. He admitted that he was shocked and shaken when he received a summons and criminal report from the songwriter 'Dirty Racing'.

"The subpoena I received accompanied by a criminal report (from Yoni Dores) is a tangible form of blurring the norms of songwriters and performers," he said.

Furthermore, Lesti emphasized that as a professional singer, she only carried out her duties according to the request of the event organizers.

"As a professional singer, I am often invited to various events. In practice, the song I sing is based on a client's request or event organizer," said Lesti.

"In fact, it is not uncommon for the change in the song list to be changed spontaneously on the spot," he added. "I, as a professional singer, only provide services to perform."

According to Lesti, what happened to her showed the weak legal protection for the singing profession.

"This shows my weak protection as a singer. If a singer as a performer can be blamed for singing a popular song, it can be a bad image," said Lesti.

"Criminal threats can be carried out unilaterally by the creator," he concluded.
