JAKARTA - The duo from Bandung, Rasukma entered a new phase in their current career. Eson (guitar-vocals) and Adel (vocals) poured out musicality and personal perspectives on the album titled Suaka via JUNI Records.

This is their second full album after Inti Bumi which was released in 2020. Worked on since 2023, this album contains nine tracks with previously introduced songs, such as Lala, Lala and Nadir.

The album Suaka is inspired by the story, Eson's point of view and feelings (volca-guitar) towards his mother. The real events that he experienced made the songs on this album feel honest, specific and touching.

The choice of the title Suaka itself comes from mutual feelings about the relationship between mother and child. When a mother gives birth, the child thinks that mother is the place to take refuge. But on the other hand, the mother also feels that her baby is the person who will protect her.

Not only expressed emotionally through lyrics, Rasukma also dared to open up further to exploration, both sonically and by way of a song arrangement. From folk, dangdut to bossanova, the experiment was conducted to strengthen their attachment to written songs.

Rasumma herself is not ashamed to 'insist' themselves in making works. They do not hesitate to enter the personal realm with the details in it as an honest expression.

"Especially on the album Suaka, the personality is very much pursued because what inspires this album is very personal albums, one of which is Carry & her Carry Sufjan happened. The nudity of the narrative is without censorship at all, so we know the story clearly. But interestingly, as listeners, we don't change our view of Sufjan though, but we project ourselves in that story. So that doesn't prevent us from writing nakedly and clearly," said Rasukma at the launch of the Suaka album in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta on Thursday, July 3.

The song titled Poyan was chosen as the latest focus track at the moment of the launch of the album Suaka. This song is positioned as an epilogue that wraps a series of stories on the album.

Rasumma's main sound engineer who is also the mix & mastering interpreter on the album Suaka is Ade Tonefreak. Ade also took the same role on the previous Rasukma albums, Inti Bumi (2020) and EP Ramu Time (2022). In addition, Rasumma was assisted by Agung Muhammad Firdaus (drums), Rezki Delian (percussion), Muhammad Afif Abdulloh (background vocals), Ditra Prasista (keys), Raftsany Zuhdi (background vocals), and Dwi Fari (saxophones).
