JAKARTA - The year 2025 has been running for half. For six months, there have been many albums of Indonesian singers and bands worth looking at again.

Of the seven albums discussed in this article, four of them came from female soloists, namely Salma Salsabil, Dere, Ziva Magnolya, and Raisa. The other three are from Marcello Tahitoe, Lomba Sihir, and Wijaya 80.

However, from the album released in the first half of 2025, there is no album that is as strong as For it, Life Must Survive from Bernadya and MARKERS AND SUCH PENS FLASHDISKS from Sal Priadi which was released last year.

Here are seven albums released in the first half of 2025:

Salma Salsabil - Hopes For The East

Coming out as the winner of Indonesian Idol in mid-2023, Salma Salsabil made an important step by launching her first album with the title 'Hopefully In The East' on January 23.

The number of tracks on this album is only eight, but six of them are new works. 'Bunga Hati' is the only old single that has returned to its debut album. While the other track, 'Memory', was a rearrangement by Oddie Agam which was popularized by Ruth Sahanaya in 1990.

The track is of the same name as the album title, 'Hopefully In the East', so Salma's mainstay. To date, the song has been the most prominent, with Spotify's number of streams reaching 31.6 million.

Dere - Flowering

Released on April 25, 'Flow' is Dere's second full album after 'Rubic'. The album contains ten tracks, namely Mount Light', 'Mawar', 'Genetica', Jona, Nirwana, Blue', Billala, Outer, and Puspa.

On his second album, Dere tries to raise various romance themes and all the colors and dynamics, including heartbreak.

Songs on the album Berbunga are more exploratory than Rubik, but more than two months since its release, the number of streams on Spotify shows no song close to the City'' and Relicy that has tens of millions of streams.

Marcello Tahitoe - Melancholic Waves

In the midst of his busy schedule with Dewa 19, Marcello Tahitoe, better known as Ello, introduced "Ombak Melancholis" on April 25, as his seventh studio album since his debut in 2005.

On this album, Ello tries to experiment with music. He doesn't want to be confined to just one genre. Several musicians were involved in creative processes, such as Iga Massardi, Pandu Fuzztoni, Vega Antares, Timothy Firman and Eki Puradiredja.

Ten tracks were presented for the album, with four songs that have preceded as singles since 2023.

Magic Contest - Chat At 3 AM

The Magic Competition launched its second full album with the title 'Obrolan Jam 3 Pagi' on May 6. No half-hearted, this album contains 16 tracks at once.

The album was fully written and produced by personnel of Baskara Putra (vocals), Enrico Octaviano (drums), Natasha Udu (vocals), Rayhan Noor (guitar), and Tristan Juliano (keyboards) aimed at listeners to find different parts of the Magic Contest.

The 3 Morning Collapse became an arena for the Magic Competition to explore as well as explore the realm of much more organic alternative pop, which was then combined with elements of pop guitar, pop rock, and soft rock.

Ziva Magnolya - Merangkai

Ziva Magnolya introduced her second album with the title "Mekakai" on May 9. Through this album, Ziva achieved her dream of having a pop-R&B album.

With the theme of romance, the 24-year-old singer who graduated from Indonesian Idol collaborated with several producers, including Donny Manurung, BIANCADIMAS, Yafi Aria, Stefans LJ, Ranbe, Belanegara Abe, S/EEEK, and also Laleilmanino.

But it's a shame, of the nine tracks presented, there are only five new songs, namely Tertarik Or Baik, Sesuka Hati, 200k, Kata, and Against All The Odds (ft. Embark J).

Beyond the 'Intro' aimed at opening the album, there are three old songs that have been presented again from 2023, namely 'Administrative', 'Ordinary Woman', and 'sufficient'.

Raisa - ambiVert

Raisa introduced her fifth studio album with the title 'ambiVert' on June 24. This album marks Raisa again finding herself as a mother and wife.

Eleven songs were presented, worked on without excessive tendencies and expectations, this album also brought Raisa back to exploring the ruins of events that had been experienced.

Apart from involving several musicians such as Lafa Pratomo, Rendy Pandugo, Barsena Bestandhi, to Rony Parulian, Raisa highlighted the role of Gusti Irwan Wibowo who died June 15 in two songs, namely TURNed Out Without You (Beautiful) and It's Okay To Not Be Okay.

Wijaya 80 - Perjumpaan (EP)

The 'jump' from Wijaya 80 is the only mini album or extended play (EP) on this list. Not without reason, the Ardhito Pramono project with Erikson Jayanto and Hezky Joe is really a differentiator.

Setelah merilis tiga single di tahun 2024 Seharusnya Aku, Pemain Lama, dan Terakhir Kali tiga lagu baru ditambah ke dalam EP, yaitu Anak Muda, Masih Ada Kamu, dan Jangan Datang Lagi/Outtakes.

Through this EP, Wijaya 80 tried to realize their dream to restore the glory of the 1980s music with its distinctive melody, lyrics, and sound.
