JAKARTA - Guitarist, musician and composer Lafa Pratomo is the main producer for Raisa's fifth album, abiVert. He revealed the interesting story behind the workshop and recording process he went through with the singer.

This is Lafa and Raisa's first musical collaboration. Previously, Lafa had taken part in a number of other musicians such as The Panturas, Danilla to Iwan Fals.

Before the first meeting, the two admitted to having assumptions against each other. But without them knowing it, their vision in writing musical works was well established.

"Before we meet, it's normal to have negative thoughts like 'oh, how do you work with a mainstream singer like me'," Raisa said at the launch of the ambiVert album at Row 9 Krapela, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta on June 25.

"Same, I was the same at first. I'm just an ordinary producer," said Lafa Pratomo.

Communication is well established through the music camp that Raisa has with producers. In the end, Lafa was appointed as a producer who made a guideline for discussion with other producers including Rendy Pandugo and Gusti Irwan Wibowo.

Lafa felt that the first experience of producing Raisa was memorable. He admired Raisa's work ethic not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter.

"For me he was diva in my era, it's a top tier. He knows what he wants for his album," said Lafa.

An interesting story was also told in the workshop process. Lafa watched Raisa's ritual for the first time before writing a song.

"In the middle of writing songs he said he wanted to sleep first, sleep in the studio. So I saw him as a diva, but also as an ordinary human being. When he woke up, suddenly he wrote a song really fast," said the producer.

At the event, Raisa also introduced a new single from the ambiVert album entitled Stay Not You. He duets with a young singer, Rony Parulian, to provide a slick composition with the characters of the two singers.
