Jesus Molina Accompanied Isyana Sarasvati At The Java Jazz Festival 2025 (Ivan Two Men/VOI)

JAKARTA - The 20th anniversary of the Java Jazz Festival (JJF) 2025 presents a special collaboration between international and domestic musicians through the performance of Jesus Molina feat Isyana Sarasvati.

The appearance of two musicians who had received music higher education at the Berklee College of Music, USA and Isyana at the Royal College of Music, England was presented on the second day of JJF 2025 which took place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Saturday, May 31.

Molina appeared on one of the biggest stages, with all the seats filled with spectators. He opened his appearance with full-energy music that filled the room. The audience also gave a lively applause every repertoire of the song was played.

Starting from jazz rock fusion, latin rhythm, to more melodic songs performed. The audience enjoyed every instrumental song without the lyrics, especially when Molina showed off her fingers on the keyboard key. Some of the songs performed included Pichi, Melody, Y Tu, and Night in Tunisia.

"Thank you Jakarta," said Molina on the sidelines of her appearance.

The 29-year-old musician from Colombia knows very well what Indonesian audiences like. He also showed his ability to speak Indonesian through rhymes.

"I've been practicing Indonesian, and I think my progress is pretty good. I'll try with you," he said.

Molina also said a rhyme that made the audience laugh, fish sharks eat tomatoes, I love you so much.

The young musician also doesn't want to miss the trend in Indonesia. He said one more rhyme.

Eat-buru catfish, karian kamu le, said Molina, greeted by laughter and applause from the audience.

"It's nice to come back here, a beautiful country, people are friendly, the culture is beautiful, the food is delicious. It's an honor to be able to come to Indonesia," he said again.

After performing several songs, Molina appeared alone on stage. He played solo for a few minutes, until finally he heard the intro of a song that was so familiar, 'Stay in the Soul'.

The applause and screams of the audience accompanied Isyana Sarasvati who came from behind the stage. He also sang the hit song accompanied by Molina.

Not to be missed, the audience, who from the beginning was presented with instrumental music, was finally able to sing together.

"Thank you, now I will go to my stage", said Isyana after finishing singing one song.

Isyana rushed to leave the stage, to another stage prepared for her appearance.
