JAKARTA - Adam Richard Wiles or better known as Calvin Harris, is accused of plagiarism by a knot producer named Chicane.

Through his Instagram account, Chicane uploaded a video entitled 'Cipta Rights Warning', which he explained the accusations of plagiarism against Harris.

Chicane considers that Harris's latest single, Blessings, which was performed in collaboration with Clementine Douglas has similarities to her 1996 song called Offshore.

"I think you're going to find it very difficult to understand when one comes in and the other is missing, it's because the two are almost identical, which is a bit of a problem," Chicane said, citing Instagram posts, Wednesday, May 21.

"I'm defending my copyright and intellectual property here. I want to know what your comments are," he continued.

Harris also uploaded his response to Chicane's claim. Through his Instagram account.

"Response to people who like to call me a plagiarator over the last few days, greetings Nick Chicane, wish you all the best, friend," Harris wrote in the caption.

In its response, Harris also twisted the sound waveforms of Blessings and Offshore, then tampered with the production until it found what was a conjectured similarity. But he called the section a different chord."

"That's what happens when you don't repeat a small part of the song, you stupid guy," Harris said.

"It's not the same... and I'm not just saying that, obviously I would say it's not the same, but it's really not the same."

Furthermore, the Scottish jockey also played the song Tangerine Dream in 1983, Love On A Real Train, and showed what he thought was a similarity between the song and Offshore.

"You look at me as if I don't know anything about music, my friend. You're really joking. I live and breathe with this nonsense, my friend," concluded Calvin Harris.
