AMIS presents Local Wisdumb as a new single (Ist)

JAKARTA - Singer and folk musician, AMIS, is back with a new music product through the single "Local Wisdumb". This song confirms its position carrying music as a picture of the reality that is sometimes bitter and striking, reminiscent of Iwan Fals.

The lyrics themselves highlight justified ignorance and irregularities that become a habit in social life. And in particular, he collaborated with the conceptor of Bara Suara, Iga Massardi as a music producer.

"Local Wisdumb" is the opening single of the full album AMIS which is scheduled for release in September 2025. With an increasingly broad musical approach and unexpected exploration, AMIS promises more surprises in upcoming releases.

This song is not just music, but a strong portrait of social reality delivered with honest, bitter lyrics, but still packaged with a distinctive style of AMIS 'satir, intelligent, and brave'.

"I wrote this lyrics seriously and full of research, it's fun. Luckily Mas Iga is willing to be a producer. The music is also serious. The final result is really beyond my expectations," AMIS said in a written broadcast, May 13.

The honest and straightforward lyrics are combined with the folk-blues style which is its trademark, making AMIS music a representative of student voices that voice young people's concerns.

Music observer and former journalist for Rolling Stone Indonesia, Wendi Putranto, called AMIS a new entity in the folk arena which succeeded in making differences stand out in the kiwari music industry.

"AMIS is a new hope of local folk balladers which makes this genre a threat again after a long time of being complacent in industrial 'comfortability'," he said.
