Tantri KOTAK Affirms Material Test Of Copyright Law At The Constitutional Court Is Not A Personal Conflict

Tantrisyalindri Ichlasari or better known as Tantri KOTAK, is one of 29 singers members of the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION) who became the applicant in the judicial review of the Copyright Law at the Constitutional Court (MK).

In a preliminary hearing with the agenda of improving the petition at the Constitutional Court last week, what happened to Tantri with KOTAK Cella and Chua was one of the actual constitutional losses filed by the applicant.

Through his Instagram account, the KOTAK vocalist also explained further about the case faced by KOTAK with its former personnel, Posan Tobing and Julie Angel alias Pare.

"In recent days, there have been reports and comments that make me need to explain directly from my own heart," said Tantri, citing her statement on Instagram, Wednesday, May 14.

"KOTAK songs that have been fully composed by PT and JA have not been performed since the summons were sent. That is a form of our respect," added the 35-year-old singer.

As for the songs written together, said Tantri, such as 'Pelan-Pelan Only', 'Still Love', 'Always Love', Just Try', and 07, still performed by KOTAK on stage.

"Because I have the same rights as a co-creator. On the other hand, these songs, with a spacious heart, I and KOTAK allow anyone to bring them," he said. The principle of my life grip which until today I believe is who launched other people's sustenance is the same as launching their own sustenance. The songs are also part of my journey for the last 18 years with BOTAK and listeners.

Tantri continued, 'Surely you can feel how to keep a job, family, banding is a very tiring on the onslaught. If it's my ego that talks, I've left this band for a long time. But Alhamdulillah, until now I, Cella and Chua and the production team including OB and drivers who depend on KOTAK's life, still stand. I believe there is a prayer and good blessing from their families at home who are energized for this band to keep running whatever the conditions are.'

Furthermore, Tantri stated that her involvement in the judicial review of the Copyright Law was not related to personal issues. As a singer, he wants all music actors to be able to carry out their duties as entertainers safely and comfortably.

Our move to the Constitutional Court is not about personal conflict. Believe me that the older I am, I just want to live a calmer and more peaceful life. So, our steps to the Constitutional Court are about creating a fairer legal space, so that singers, stage musicians, and other performers can work safely as true entertainers," said Tantri.

"Thank you to friends who have understood and continue to support our journey. Hopefully more good things will be born out of pure intentions to work together," he concluded.
