JAKARTA - Voice of Baceprot (VoB) introduced a new single with the title 'Put The Gun Down', a song that voiced the anxiety of Marsya (vocals, guitars), Widi (bass), and Siti (drums) towards the latest social-political situation.

The 'Put The Gun Down' has become a kind of response to recent social and political conditions as well as a form of call for increased repression and injustice felt by today's young generation.

"Today our grief is tested. The policies that are born no longer reflect wisdom, but only make people miserable," VoB said in a press release received by VOI, Monday, April 28.

Through his new work, the trio from Garut also spoke out loud to reject all forms of violence, oppression, and policies that perpetuate corruption and curb freedom of expression.

This song is referred to as a form of curse to tyrannical power and a system that allows the 'predator of life' to continue to live and seize the nation's future.

As a unit containing young people, VoB feels it has a moral responsibility to continue to side with humanity. Through 'Put The Gun Down', they try to awaken listeners, that artwork is not only about aesthetics, but also a tool of struggle that remains relevant.

"Sebagai musisi yang belum lagi ajeg mempertahankan hidup, sepenuh kesadaran kami inginsaf bahwa laku karya keberadaan kami akan selalu terbatuh dengan tanggung jawab moral atas hidup yang harus dijaga agar berjalan sesuai. Bahwa karya harus lahir dari kandungan dan berbenar-benarnya pada kemanusiaan. ujar Marsya.
