Menbud Fadli Zon Gagas Forum Collects Votes As A Room For The Dialogue Of The Music Industry

Menbud Fadli Zon held the Vote Collection forum as a forum for dialogue for music people (Ist)

JAKARTA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon expressed his commitment that the state is here for musicians and their industries. He said strengthening regulations and protection against music industry players was urgent things that could not be postponed.

This was conveyed in an open dialogue forum entitled Gapul Suara which was held on Wednesday, April 23 at the Ministry of Culture together with music personnel at the Presidential Insan Plaza, Jakarta.

This forum is a live audience space between the government and music actors of various backgrounds. which includes musicians, producers, managers, to independent activists. Present include Ahmad Dhani, Dwiki Darmawan, Candra Darusman, Ikang Fauzi, Ianan Antono, Mulan Jameela, and many other music actors.

"This is not a formality forum. We want to know firsthand what needs to be addressed, from royalties, work distribution, to copyright recognition issues. The state must be present to ensure musicians are not only respected, but also protected," said Culture Minister Fadli Zon in a written statement received Thursday, April 24.

In the 'Voton Collection', Minister of Culture Fadli emphasized that music will continue to be encouraged as a cultural medium. This is in line with the mandate of the Cultural Advancement Law Number 5 of 2017. Support is provided through the protection of intellectual property rights, cross-sectoral collaboration, and cultural-based innovation.

Fadli also said that the Indonesianna Fund would be launched soon. Next week, these funds will begin to be accessed by the public. The goal is to make funding more even, inclusive, and reach more music actors.

The Ministry of Culture is also building cooperation with related institutions, the creative community, and the private sector. The focus include: copyright protection, digitization of music archives, musical literacy among young people, strengthening distribution, and access to the national music market.

This effort is also directed to encourage the recognition of Indonesian musicians in the international arena.

The interactive discussion was guided by Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha who stated that this 'Voton Collection' forum would be a routine agenda. In the future, similar dialogues will involve producers and the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN).
