Marcell Siahaan's Response To Ahmad Dhani's Satire On Social Media

JAKARTA - After the decision of the Central Jakarta Commercial Court which granted Ari Bias' lawsuit against Agnez Mo, several Indonesian musicians exchanged arguments again. Ahmad Dhani and Marcell Siahaan 'sindir' on social media is one example.

At first, Dhani responded to Marcell's statement in a report. Through his Instagram account, the Dewa 19 frontman quipped Marcell as an expert in copyright.

"This is what turns out to be more expert on law than professors of copyright and judges," wrote Ahmad Dhani, citing the caption of the upload, Wednesday, February 12.

"Legal work, no. Just once the UI (Indonesian University) law graduate doesn't dare to sing Dewa 19 songs again," continued Dhani.

But for his last statement, Dhani changed it not long after that. "If it's not a doctor, it can't be an expert witness yet."

Appearing to respond to Dhani's satire, Marcell changed the information on his Instagram account. He explained himself as a graduate of the Faculty of Law.

"The law work that speaks well, has the personality of ngenin and dreams of becoming a real drummer," wrote Marcell.

Meanwhile, Marcell Siahaan serves as Commissioner for Law and Litigation at the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN).

In a report referred to by Ahmad Dhani, Marcell stated that Ari Bias as Agnez Mo's plaintiff at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court, was still actively registered as a member of the Indonesian Cipta Karya LMK (KCI).

That way, he sees that permission to perform a song (licence) and royalty payments should be made through the LMK in question.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Dhani is one of the most vocal musicians related to the work of LMKN and LMK who he considers unable to manage royalties, especially for music performances.

Ahmad Dhani is also under the same organization as Ari Bias, namely the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI).
