Ify Alyssa Reveals Differences When He Becomes A Member Of Blink And Independent Musician

JAKARTA - Ify Alyssa started his professional music career in various singers through the Blink group in 2011. After six years, he started a solo career as an independent musician.

After more than a decade in the Indonesian music industry, the 28-year-old singer-songwriter saw a fundamental difference between being a member of Blink and solo careers.

"What used to feel like when in Blink was because I haven't composed my own song, it's like it's just like singing. So, it's actually like I had my dreams that were still delayed, so I realized them when I was in solo careers," Ify said when met in Kemang, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 16.

Regarding the comfort of music, said Ify, his choice is to become a member of Blink. However, he felt more satisfied when solo careers, especially carried out independently.

"When you talk about comfort, it's definitely the previous taste, just sing. But if you struggle and make your own songs, this is really what I want. So, when you talk, you're more satisfied, you'll be more satisfied now, of course," he said.

Since he was no longer a member of Blink in 2017, Ify even felt comfortable having his career without a label. Even though he had to face bigger challenges, he felt the work produced so far was in line with expectations.

"It's sad, if you are independent, it's okay to do your own business. In the past, I was under label, it's like being used. Well, for solo careers, it's okay for me to design myself, I really have to know what I want," he said.

"But it's better with the results, because no one arranges it. So, thank God, it's been okay until now," he added.

With all his dreams and ideals in music, Ify feels that an independent path is the best for him.

"It can be like just joining a label, it's just like it's not what I want. So, I, with all the struggles, just face it," he concluded.
