Playing In Cipete, Opening The Door Wide For Local Musicians Unjuk Kreasi

JAKARTA - The city of Jakarta has never been separated from its dynamic young activities. Including the matter of music, Playing in Cipete is one of the activities initiated by Enodimedjo to provide a stage for newcomer musicians.

In a written statement, Eno said that the Main-Main program in Cipete was initiated as a storefront for young musicians to peddle their works. Stages, he said, are one of the important elements for promoting a musical work.

"For newcomer musicians, the opportunity to perform or appear in an event is difficult for them to get. In fact, apart from being able to pick up new listeners, excitement or music shows can be an event for them to increase their playing hours, as well as become a creative node between musicians to network with each other," said Enodimedjo in a release received by VOI, January 16.

As the title implies, this event is routinely held at Cipete. Every Monday night musicians are given a stage to show creations at Casatopia Cafe, South Jakarta.

Playing in Cipete is under the umbrella of Reallist Management, a collective entity founded by Eno. To date, 19 musicians from various cities and provinces in Indonesia have appeared in this program including Mahardias (Bekasi), Tape Argument (Pamulang), Fabian Putra (Depok), Moccatune (Surabaya), Davi Siumbing (Jakarta), Afternourway (Ciputat), Verryans (Samarinda), to Mr. Zaqilah (Kolaka) and others.

Through the Main-Play program in Cipete, Eno seems to want to prove his consistency in building a healthy music ecosystem. One of them is as a growth space for those who are still pioneering the road, so that regeneration can run well.

"Some time ago, music lovers were familiar with the term 'musical manifestation with that lineup'. Such anxiety shouldn't have existed if new musicians were given room to grow," he said.

Eno said the event he initiated was held free of charge without tickets to provide wider space for filmmakers who want to find new listeners. The concept of being free also opens up opportunities for anyone to come and find the works of new Indonesian musicians.

"This event is very, very open to anyone, both music producers and music lovers. Please come, get acquainted, network, and then jointly form a healthy music ecosystem and support each other," said Enodimedjo.
